wHY US?
Rendlesham Forest Café is based in one of Suffolk’s most beautiful tourist locations, right in the heart of an incredible forest.
We serve premium-quality espresso coffee, creamy milkshakes, and plenty more — there’s genuinely something for everyone.
My goal has always been to run an eco-friendly café, surrounded by nature at its purest. That’s something I think is really important, and the café has been set up from the start to make that possible. In the years to come, I can honestly see us running completely self-sufficiently.
And I say this in the most humble way possible… over the years, so many customers have told us our coffee is the best — and better than the big brands like Costa. The truth is, I’ve poured my heart and soul into this business, and every single cup matters to me.
I know coffee these days isn’t just coffee — and it definitely isn’t priced like it either — so I want every drink we serve to feel more than worth it. I want you to enjoy every sip.
We’re independent, passionate, and committed to giving a personal, friendly service every day.
Mission Statement
Our goal at Rendlesham Forest Café (Tintos) is to provide sustainable café solutions — stepping away from the traditional brick-and-mortar setup and building something that works in harmony with the environment around us.
Rendlesham Forest Café is built from two recycled, repurposed shipping containers, giving them a second life and creating a space that’s practical, efficient, and designed to last. Inside, everything is chosen with low-energy operation in mind, including energy-efficient fridges and freezers to help keep power usage as low as possible day-to-day.
We also take sustainability seriously in the details — not just the “big ideas.” That’s why we use compostable cups, and we’ve built simple systems to keep recycling separated from general waste. Even if our cups end up in general waste (like most do), they’re still compostable — meaning if they’re littered, at least they will eventually break down rather than sit in the environment for years.
We’re also committed to improving further. At the moment, our lids aren’t compostable yet — purely because the cost was hard to absorb alongside other start-up expenses — but we’re actively looking to switch to fully compostable lids in the coming months, and it’s something we’re committed to implementing.
As part of our long-term approach, we’re exploring the potential for solar energy in collaboration with Forestry England, as we continue developing smarter ways to reduce our footprint while operating in a natural setting.
All wood used in our build is FSC-certified, meaning it comes from responsibly managed sources and meets recognised industry sustainability standards. And importantly — we do not use plastic in our service items.
We also believe sustainability is economic as well as environmental. That’s why we work with local suppliers wherever possible, supporting the local community and reducing unnecessary transport miles. Behind the scenes, we have systems in place to manage food waste, minimise unnecessary stock loss, and reduce our overall carbon footprint through efficient planning and smart operations.
It’s not about being perfect — it’s about doing things properly, improving consistently, and building something we’re proud of.
